Thank you for the insight. I listened to a person just this week explain how they identify as non-binary and explain their understanding of the concept... I found it illuminating and freeing.

As a child I never quite fit in with the boys who share my gender. Perhaps I would have come to see myself as trans at one point in my youth, I certainly didn't feel like a boy, but there was no concept to explain what I felt, except to say that I didn't feel like the boys I knew. Ultimately I came to understand myself as a gay man.

However, even that label is only a partial fit, all be it one I'm comfortable enough in.

But listening to the afforementioned non-binary person opened my mind to the possibility that we can in fact live somewhere in between, by our own definition, based on what feels right in different facets of our lives... regardless of what our body says about our gender.

I support everyone in finding happiness in their unique circumstance. We aren't born the same for a reason. Let's honor and celebrate out truth and find the fulfilment our uniqueness entitles us to.
